Skinsational Apex Legends Seer

Is it Sear or See-er? There may be confusion about the name but no question over how stylish this new legend is! You know the drill, let’s get reviewing!

Heartthrob 2/5

In this suave Spanish styled skin, Seer’s looking smooth. Despite the Barcelona heat, Seer’s been given an extra layer of armour underneath which nicely changes up his usual styling. Meanwhile, the navy blue is cool and a great base for the white ruffles and gold chest piece to stand out. The hat is a Cordobes- a traditional Spanish hat of one colour with a band around the base. All of this works for a cohesive and authentic Spanish look… when it’s not moving. Unfortunately in motion the ruffles look to be not properly attached, dangling strangely, while the fabric gains a shininess that makes it seem like latex which completely clashes with the traditional Spanish styling. This could all be forgiven if not for the high price tag. There’s a very similar skin to this for a quarter the price! The theme works better on the R-99 skin in this bundle but as an overall package, you’re going to need more than Seer’s ultimate to keep this in my sights!

Heart of Gold 2/5

Gorgeous in gold. The shade goes nicely with his skin tone while allowing that blue emblem in the centre to really shine out. The hat has some nice detail without overshadowing the other elements. The change in material makes him look a little more battle ready than the other skins on the list. Not bad but long time readers know how I feel about the Respawn full gold treatment. Either way, look on the brightside: This skin might be outstyled but it can’t be outshined!

Curtain Call 3/5

This is like an upgraded version of the Heartthrob skin included in a much cheaper bundle with some spends on the side. Seer’s abs are back out looking more chiselled than ever. This blue leather looks really fashionable and the gold embellishments give off stylish European flare. The hat’s a bit more simple which works well with the rest of the skin. The face is a little over accessorised from the mask to the tendrils to the double pierced lip. But for some more is more and for the price of this skin, that’s exactly what you’re getting!

Check Me Out 4/5

Patterns on patterns on patters. In chess, why win the board when you can be the board? The monochromatism of this is really nice and simple while the patterns juxtaposed against the plain fabrics add a lot of interest. The blacks and whites interweave across the skin in an abstract fashion all the way up to the face across one eye. The whole look is topped off by this clean fedora that goes against the chaotic patterning of the skin in this almost 40s style. This could’ve easily been a very plain skin which instead is an intricate criss-cross of design. For free too? Hopefully it will help with some strategizing!

Light Show 5/5

If Raiden from Mortal Kombat was in Cyberpunk 2099. Futuristic and fortified, Cyan and Stylish, Seer is here to match it blindingly clear that he is the fashionista of the season! The Tron combat suit with the cybernetic embellishments. The shining white armour pieces that keep him lightweight with bright palette to match! Most importantly, the razor sharp disk of a hat that comes with it’s own eye contacts, face guards, and room for your new styled hair to still be shown. Everything here works for that uber futuristic impression. There’s a perfect balance of fashion and future for this imperfectly balanced legend. Mains will flock to this like moths to a flame!

Tiger Eyes 5/5

Wow. This is one of the best skins in the game so far. As named on the recolour, this perfectly defines Afrofuturism and puts Respawn at the forefront of inclusion and foreward thinking. It would be a gut reaction to take ‘tiger’ and go to animal print or fur straight away. However this more subtle take goes to fashion. The criss-cross between the orange (more on top) and black (more on bottom) is a more subtle representation of tiger styripes which is more stylish. It’s body conscious, it’s battle ready and it’s keeping Seer at the forefront of fashion. But let’s not mince words, we’re all here for the hat. This huge ridiculous statement hat- I mean it’s not meant for a stealth mission is it?! Seer has to finish up the fight because in about 10 minutes he’s got a runway and a photoshoot for Vogue Olympus! The shape of an upside down pyramid, the way it comes over the face past the eyes as if he’s under some sort of fashionable mind control, the orbital ring around the centre? This is redefining and developing on the theme of Afrofuturism. If this is what the future looks like then surely everything will be fabulous!

After a bright season for Seer, many players have flocked and, accordingly, have many skins to choose from for their new main. He may be a recon that can see everyone else but with these looks everyone will be looking at him!
