Skinsational Apex Legends Mad Maggie

Admittedly I’ve been reluctant to release this as I’m reluctant to play the character. Still scarred by the bugs of season 8 during her in-game debut, Maggie didn’t appeal to me from her kit to the voice that many streamers used to mute. However, from season to season, she’s grown on me and she’s become welcomed into her game with her meta changing abilities. To make up for lost time, let’s look back on her launch skins.

Seeing Red 0/5

Terrible. Minimal changes and an uninteresting pattern. This was the start of the end of the incredibly well valued 500 Apex Coin bundle.

Chaotic Coral 2/5

Pretty in pink! It’s powerful having a badass tomboy in the most feminine colour. The tiger print walks the line between punk rock and tacky but the makeup and hair pull it through. Decent for a free skin.

Steamed 3/5

Love the steampunk idea. It keeps the rough and readiness of her character while transporting it to a different era. The army colours match her combative background and there’s a nice balance between machinery and fabric. It’s a little simple but sometimes outfits don’t need tons of moving parts. What was it Coco Chanel said? When leaving the house, load a shotgun? Something like that…

Máori Warrior 3/5

Ah back in the days when Respawn thought every character needed some kind of tribal skin in their repetoire. It’s decent to look at. The red ceramic look to the clothing is unique with some jade accents put it to a certain time. The jewlery around her head is really striking from the face paint to the half mask to the tusk earrings. It’s just that it’s quite expected and not the best that she has to offer. Maybe this should’ve just been left in the past.

Blood and Plunder 4/5

Matching her brother, on the game’s second anniversary Mad Maggie donned a pirate outfit and swashbuckled her way onto the battlefield. All the same features are there with the greens and golds, the red strips of clothing, that ghostly skin colour and barnicles from place to place. A few attentions to detail have been added like the bandana and hair dye that stops it from being a complete replica. It matches satisfyingly without being a complete clone and it matches her story and her role in the Apex games.

Above the Law 4/5

My personal favourite still to this day. A really cool and slick skin that embraced the rebel biker theme of Season 12. It’s simple but superb from the snakeskin jacket to the bandage top, matched by the stylish shades. Maybe not the pearl necklace but it’s a cool outfit that matches from head to toe. Beware her bite!

She came in like a wrecking ball and is here to stay. What is your favourite Mad Maggie skin? Have any newer additions dethroned Above the Law? Let me know!

Very judgemental. I write Gaming Fashion Reviews and Monthly Blogs. It doesn't hurt to click!
